Job Title: REMS Clinical Nurse EducatorJob Description

The Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Clinical Nurse Educator plays a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and counseling for patients enrolled in the Medication Therapy Program. This position requires a passion for nursing, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a self-motivated attitude. The successful candidate will be committed to helping team members achieve the mission of delivering high-level care to patients.

Responsibilities

+ Counsel and educate existing patients on REMS FDA-mandated medications.

+ Read a list of statements to the patient verbatim as part of the REMS program.

+ Ensure patients and caregivers are informed about current therapy and medication adherence.

+ Schedule medication refill deliveries and collect copays, if applicable.

+ Adhere to contracted and accrediting regulations as indicated by drug specifications.

+ Complete thorough and accurate documentation following good documentation practices and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

+ Discuss potential and current side effects with patients to educate about treatment alternatives and facilitate ongoing therapy adherence.

+ Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to the manufacturer, FDA, and/or other governing authorities.

+ Perform specialty drug verification and education to support therapeutic longevity.

+ Maintain patient demographic records, medical history, and records in compliance with federal HIPAA standards.

+ Collaborate with Pharmacy Support teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of specialty drugs.

Essential Skills

+ Registered Nurse with current unrestricted compact state license or primary NC licensure.

+ Associates, Bachelor, or higher degree in Nursing or accredited nursing diploma.

+ Ability to obtain licensing in all states and United States territories serviced within 3 months of employment through Biologics supported programming.

+ 5 or more years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in inpatient or outpatient care preferred.

+ Proficiency in computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and web-based programs.

+ Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with experience in motivational interviewing preferred.

+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret practice standards, professional journals, and technical procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in oncology nursing, both inpatient and outpatient settings.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Proficiency in computer data entry and phone etiquette.

+ Experience in identifying and managing adverse events.

Work Environment

The position requires working in an office for the first 3 months, with the option to work from home thereafter. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
