    Position Summary

    The Manufacturing Manager coordinates all activities for the Manufacturing (Kitting) department and Inventory Control department. This position is responsible for master scheduling and completion of kitted materials used to support lab operations. Will maintain and reconcile material transactions to ensure accuracy throughout the manufacturing process and for physical inventory counts of all inventories in all buildings.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Manage, develop, and train kitting, and inventory control staff to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

    + Responsible for master scheduling, processing work orders for kits, intermediates, and components.

    + Coordinates with supply chain, logistics, and lab operations to ensure smooth flow of materials and line clearance events.

    + Maintain inventories in designated storage areas and rotate stock according to receipt date and expiration dates to ensure proper rotation of materials used in manufacturing for use prior to expiration.

    + Responsible for creating/updating SOP’s to stay current with policy and procedures.

    + Verify accuracy of department transactions including inventory movement transactions, and quality related transactions.

    + Prepare and document transfer of kitted material shipments to lab facilities.

    + Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies in warehouse and lab facilities stockrooms.

    + Assist lab teams and external partners with transportation related issues including customs clearances and documentation.

    + Ensure all key performance indicators (KPI’s) meet or exceed targets including internal turn-around-times, inventory accuracy, and inventory capacity targets.

    + Contribute to the development and enhancement of warehouse and materials management policies and practices, make recommendations for process improvements.

    + Maintain, organize, and file material reassignment form, inventory disposal forms and any other relevant documentation.

    + Assist in record storage and retrieval process as needed.

    + Maintain a clean, neat and safe work area

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, technology, or related field.

    + 5+ years of progressive experience in a supply chain and/or procurement capacity, with at least 2 years in a lab environment.

    + 2+ years of experience in an FDA/GMP environment.

    + Knowledge of inventory management best practices.

    • **Preferred Qualifications**

    + Understanding of industry related issues in warehousing, specimen handling, customer support, and use of technology in logistics.

    + College degree or warehousing / inventory management certification.

    + Self-motivated with above average interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to operate materials handling equipment as needed (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)

    + Works well in a team environment

    Physical Demands

    + Will work at a desk / computer as well as the occasional use of copiers, fax machines, and scanners.

    + Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail.

    + Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

    + Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    Training

    + All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.

    Other

    + This position will require working some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
