Job Description
Join our Metabolism Team, where we focus on chemistry lab work with a strong emphasis on biological theory. As a Research Analyst, you will engage in in-vitro work involving test tubes, aiming to identify trends in studies against biological samples such as plasma, blood, urine, and feces from both animal and human sources. Your primary goal will be to generate data that contributes to our understanding of these trends.
Responsibilities
+ Work with biological samples including plasma, blood, urine, and feces.
+ Support the team in processing samples by running basic wet chemistry techniques such as pipetting, cell counting, and centrifuge operations.
+ Maintain and grow cell lines in preparation for assays, with a focus on cell culture.
+ Operate equipment for extractions and manage your own samples.
+ Conduct studies from start to finish, including seeding cells onto assay plates, harvesting plates, and running extractions.
+ Handle animal study processes in test tubes, involving cell lines, blood, or plasma.
+ Utilize analytical techniques such as plate reader, LC-MS, and radio reader compounds.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in biochemistry and aseptic techniques.
+ Strong foundation in biology and chemistry.
+ Experience in analytical chemistry, particularly HPLC and GC.
+ Skills in cell biology, cell culture, and wet chemistry.
+ Competency in pipetting, mass spectrometry, and cell culture maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related life science field.
+ At least 1 year of undergraduate research experience focused on chemistry or biology.
+ Experience with running analytical instrumentation like HPLC and LC-MS is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
