Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a long-term care pharmacy setting. The role involves filling and compounding medications, handling phone communications with nursing staff, and labeling prescriptions. You will be part of a team that services 1000 beds, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of prescriptions while adhering to pharmacy policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Fill and compound medications, including ointments.

+ Communicate with nursing staff to confirm dosages via phone.

+ Label prescriptions accurately.

+ Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures.

+ Work in either the daily fill or cycle fill departments.

+ Prepare daily fill prescriptions for immediate shipment.

+ Fill cycle prescriptions with blister cards and bottles for 30+ days supply.

Essential Skills

+ 1-3+ years of experience in a pharmacy or production-based position such as serving, warehouse, or assembly.

+ Proficiency in pharmacy technology and medication handling.

+ Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.

Work Environment

The work environment is casual, allowing jeans and t-shirts, but requires closed-toe shoes. Shorts are permitted if they are above the knee, and open shoulder shirts are not allowed. The job involves standing for long periods. The schedule includes rotating shifts Monday through Friday between 8am and 7pm, with weekend shifts every third weekend. This position offers a mix of daily fill and cycle fill duties in a non-retail setting, focusing on prescriptions for nursing homes, assisted living, and group homes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
