Job Title: Electrical/Solar Technician
Job Description
This position involves operating and maintaining utility-scale solar photovoltaic electric systems. The role includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing the plant's electrical and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and maintain utility-scale solar photovoltaic electric systems.
+ Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on solar panels and related equipment.
+ Work independently and follow directions as required.
+ Communicate effectively with plant stakeholders.
+ Perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting heavy equipment safely in various weather conditions.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 2-year college/technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
+ Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Electrical background preferred.
+ Solar utility-scale inverter maintenance experience preferred.
+ Experience with photovoltaic systems and inverters is desired.
+ Instrumentation experience is a plus.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Work Environment
Work at a solar plant, requiring the ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work safely in various weather conditions. The role involves handling electrical and electronic devices, including AC/DC power, circuit boards, actuators, and inverters.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Fort Stockton, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
