    Job Title: Dishwasher

    Job Description

    This position primarily involves working in the dishroom, washing and drying dishes, gathering carts with dirty dishes, and sorting them. After cleaning, you will stock the dishes in the correct area, take out the trash as needed, and assist in other kitchen areas if not busy. The role involves reporting to the Food Services Manager and working within the kitchen, cafeteria, dish room, and patient services. Half of your time will be spent dishwashing, while the other half will involve general cleaning around the cafeteria.

    Responsibilities

    + Wash and dry dirty dishes.

    + Gather and sort carts with dirty dishes.

    + Stock cleaned dishes in the correct area.

    + Take out the trash as needed.

    + Assist in other areas of the kitchen if not busy.

    + Work with different cleaning chemicals; gloves and aprons are provided.

    + Organize and clean storage room.

    + Dust and disinfect the kitchen area.

    + Set down clean mats on the floor.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with food preparation, food handling, and dishwashing.

    + Customer service orientation.

    + Experience in food service, hospitality, or a medical environment.

    + Ability to lift 25 pounds and push/pull 25 pounds.

    + Must be able to stand/walk 95% of the time.

    + Must have a valid food handler card.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a hospital cafeteria, which is a fast-paced kitchen/restaurant type environment. You will work both independently and collaboratively with a team of about 50 people. The full-time schedule is from 11:30am to 8:00pm. You must be open to working all weekends and holidays, with two days off during the week (Tuesday & Wednesday or Wednesday & Thursday).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
