Description

My client, a global logistics/transportation company, is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization based in the Edison, New Jersey area and offers a Hybrid schedule. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage fiscal functions, evaluate financial performance, and provide insights to drive organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial planning, reporting, and compliance, ensuring the company’s financial stability and success.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the organization's financial functions, including planning, developing, and evaluating fiscal strategies.

• Manage all aspects of financial operations such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, tax payments, and bank reconciliations.

• Prepare and monitor budgets, pro-forma financial statements, and expenditure reports to ensure fiscal responsibility.

• Develop and implement strategic financial plans to align with the company's long-term objectives.

• Communicate with and evaluate third-party vendors involved in financial operations to ensure seamless collaboration.

• Assess the impact of new programs, strategies, and regulatory changes on the organization's financial health.

• Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, reports, and financial trends to support leadership decision-making.

• Establish and enforce policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness.

• Prepare detailed financial and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Review and analyze cash flow projections to ensure adequate liquidity for current and future business activities.

Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.

• Experience in the logistics or transportation industry is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of financial management, reporting, and compliance practices.

• Expertise in strategic planning and financial analysis.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

• Ability to evaluate and improve departmental structures and processes for enhanced efficiency.

• Proficiency in preparing detailed financial reports and comparative analysis.

• Experience advising on contracts and acquisition opportunities to ensure profitability
