    Electronic Controls Technician

    Job Description

    An experienced industrial electrician with five years of relevant experience is sought to perform planned maintenance on computers, microprocessors, and PLC-based equipment. The role involves conducting inspections, modifications, and responding to breakdowns and trouble calls. The technician will work closely with supervision and planning teams to schedule downtime as needed and will collaborate with crews to troubleshoot equipment issues. The position requires maintaining records, making reports, updating manuals, and assisting in training electricians.

    Must Haves

    + 5+ years of experience as an industrial maintenance electrician.

    + Proficiency in electrical work and PLC programming.

    + Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC and remote hardware.

    + Ability to perform preventive maintenance and inspections.

    + Skills in troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, and repair.

    + Capability in reading schematics, blueprints, and performing electrical troubleshooting.

    + Experience in maintenance repair, conveyor systems, motors, and industrial welding.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform planned maintenance on assigned computers, microprocessors, and PLC-based equipment.

    + Conduct PM's, inspections, and modifications; respond to breakdowns and trouble calls.

    + Coordinate with supervision and planning for scheduling downtime.

    + Troubleshoot inoperative or malfunctioning equipment with various crews.

    + Maintain records, make reports, and update prints, manuals, and diagrams.

    + Make recommendations to prevent problem recurrence.

    + Assist in training electricians as needed.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a non-climate-controlled oil production facility, which can be very hot in the summer due to machinery and weather conditions. The maintenance team consists of 10 people, with an overall team size of 50 onsite staff working closely together. The night shift runs from 5 PM to 5 AM, and flexibility is required as hours may vary. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, a work shirt, and eventual company uniforms. The facility is high-speed and can experience varying temperatures in different areas.

    This is a Contract position based out of Deer Park, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
