Job Title: Fiber Spinning Operator
Job Description
As a Fiber Spinning Operator, you will work under the guidance of the Plant Manager and the Fabrication Coordinator to operate module fabrication processes and equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality modules in a safe and efficient manner while minimizing operating costs and complying with federal, state, and local regulations. These modules serve various industries, including Food, Manufacturing, and Auto Shops, filtering out different substances as per client requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all plant policies and company safety standards, rules, and procedures. Address unsafe conditions promptly or report them to the Fabrication Coordinator.
+ Complete all module fabrication operations such as bundle preparation, tubesheet formation, module assembly, patching, coating, drying, testing, and shipping as instructed by the Fabrication Coordinator. Perform quality control on raw materials using a gel timer.
+ Interact with PLCs to collect data and evaluate process operations. Monitor critical process variables and report any deviations to the Fabrication Coordinator.
+ Understand regulatory requirements for hazardous waste handling, air permits, and spill reporting. Immediately report any deviations from permit conditions to the Fabrication Coordinator.
+ Recognize when fabrication equipment requires repair or maintenance and communicate this information to the Fabrication Coordinator for maintenance scheduling.
+ Identify opportunities for cost-saving, quality, or safety improvements in the module fabrication area and report them to the Plant Manager.
+ Collaborate with the Fabrication Coordinator and plant support engineers to develop and revise standard operating procedures. Assist in training new operators.
+ Record process information in logbooks for evaluation by other operators and participate in monthly communication meetings.

Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing setting that is generally not loud, with temperatures varying based on outdoor weather conditions. The facility spans 80,000 square feet and is divided into sections, including Loom, Warehouse, Mod Fab, and office areas. The operator will work in the Mod Fab section. There are security gates around the facility, and smoking is not permitted on-site due to a shared space with Dow Chemical. Work is scheduled on a 12-hour rotating shift, alternating between days and nights weekly, from Monday to Friday, with some overtime opportunities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburg, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
