    Job Title: Juvenile Justice Coordinator

     

    Department: Care Coordination

    Position Summary

    The Juvenile Justice Coordinator uses strength-based, trauma-informed, and family-driven evidence-based practices to support youth with successfully building independent living skills. The Coordinator will carry a caseload and maintain a flexible schedule to respond to the needs of youth. This role collaborates with ECDSS and Probation teams with the goal of reducing recidivism in the juvenile justice system.

     

    + Raise the Age Program (RTA): Serves clients ages 16–23; minimum 2 contacts per week (8 hours per month). Length of stay determined by probation.

    + Supervision and Treatment Services for Juvenile Program (STSJP): Serves clients ages 7–18; minimum 2 contacts per week (8 hours per month). Length of stay 4–5 months.

    + Supervision and Treatment Services for Juvenile Program – RTA (STSJP-RTA): Serves clients ages 12–18; minimum 2 contacts per week (8 hours per month). Length of stay 4–5 months.

    Compensation

    $24.12 – $25.34 per hour (based on education and years of relevant experience).

    Hours/Schedule

    + Full-Time, 35 hours a week.

    Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities

    + Maintain a caseload (approx. 8 youth full-time, 4 part-time).

    + Engage youth using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, strength-based approaches.

    + Collaborate with family members, probation, ECDSS, and community partners.

    + Provide crisis support and implement individualized plans of care.

    + Complete documentation in Netsmart myEvolv and CONNECTIONS (assessments, plans, safety/crisis plans, progress notes).

    + Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and program quality improvement.

    + Maintain confidentiality, comply with safety standards, and follow agency policies.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Ability to work effectively with diverse clients, families, staff, and community partners.

    + Knowledge of child and youth development, trauma, family engagement, and behavior management.

    + Ability to provide crisis intervention.

    + Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and ability to learn other systems.

    + Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and travel locally with reliable transportation.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in human behavioral science (social work, psychology, sociology, guidance/counseling, child development, etc.) with 2 years of experience; OR

    + Master’s Degree in human services with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

    + Valid NYS driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

    + Must meet annual physical requirements and agency safety standards.
