The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all daily targets, goals, and process flows for Receiving, Returns, Inventory, and Outbound related activities. They provide feedback and coaching to the team, with a mindset towards cross training and people development.
How you create impact
+ Responsible for 24/7/362 day operation and will adjust schedule to meet the needs and demands of the operation aligned with our Client’s business.
+ Support Department Managers to develop smooth and accurate flow of inventory into and out of the warehouse.
+ Ensure adherence to the standard training program for all levels of employees.
+ Ensure compliance with all DC safety policies and make improvements if necessary.
+ Complete annual performance reviews of all direct reports.
+ Establish long range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management with the support of the General Manager.
+ Make recommendations to improve operations using continuous improvement techniques, driving cost saving initiatives and tracking savings.
+ Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility.
+ Plan and schedule all logistics services including receiving, inspection, storing, delivery, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory and quality standards.
+ Assure that orders are picked and processed timely and within prescribed quality and performance levels.
+ Track process productivities to ensure staffing models and employee cross training is aligned with expectations.
+ Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of reports regarding warehouse operations.
+ Budgeting development with General Manager/corporate guidance and support; P&L responsibility.
+ Ownership of tracking and documentation of out of scope work orders and overtime hours worked.
+ Maintain employee awareness of and compliance to the Kuehne + Nagel Quality, Safety & Health, Environment, and Security Management Systems, (QSHE).
+ Maintain compliance to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
+ Coordinate and assist with internal and external QMS, Compliance, Customer and Operational audits.
+ Ensure required training is provided to all employees in support of the QMS according to the Training Matrix.
+ Ensure the updating of Work Instructions and Job Aids in support of the QMS.
+ Ensure that discrepancies are documented using the appropriate reporting systems (TIPs)
+ Interact and supply reporting as necessary with customer business leaders. Lead or Participate in weekly and monthly business reviews with the customer.
What we would like you to bring
+ Five years of management experience in a faced-paced logistics environment
+ Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills
+ Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment, working knowledge of WMS technologies
+ Successful track record in leadership and supervising the work of subordinates
+ Experience with consumer retail industry standards and requirements a plus
+ Experience with ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems a plus
+ Successful communication - written and verbal
+ Establish priorities and multi-task
+ Possess professional business demeanor
