The Opportunity
The Production Manager is responsible for all phases of assembling materials for customer orders, receiving new and returned product, and maintaining safety and quality standards within the warehouse. The Production Manager position will be located in Flint, Michigan.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions:
* Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties.
* Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
* Operate equipment and machinery.
* Perform all positions within crew
* Remove and position printing plates and/or cutting dies.
* Train crew members as to duties assigned.
* Input data into computer for job cost performance
* Trouble shoot machines; knowledge of how to fix problems.
* Contact maintenance technician when necessary.
* Follow processes and procedures for all machinery.
* Perform weekly preventive maintenance.
* Other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Course work in Business Management, Industrial Management, or related field preferred
* One or more-year(s) experience as Production Supervisor
* General fluency in English required, verbal and written.
* Basic computer literacy required.
* Bilingual a plus
