The Rochester Presbyterian Home is seeking a Full Time day shift Housekeeper/Hospitality Partner for our Homestead Assisted Living – Memory Care Community located in Rochester, NY.

$500 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE!

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to perform daily environmental support services tasks, to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner and meets all local, state and federal standards.

Essential Job Functions

+ Complete quality assurance reports and submit to leadership

+ Ensure daily logs and assignment sheets are completed and accurate.

+ Ensure housekeeping tasks are completed.

+ Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms, recreational areas and hallways.

+ Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.

+ Clean windows/mirrors in all areas.

+ Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, et.

+ Clean carpets, vacuum carpets.

+ Clean walls, doors and ceilings.

+ Remove dirt, dust grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning, disinfecting.

+ Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.

+ Clean turnover rooms as assigned for admissions and discharges.

+ Discard infectious waste into appropriate containers.

+ Monitor for unsafe conditions in resident rooms and facility and report to leadership.

+ Follow work/cleaning schedules.

+ Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.

+ Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor.

+ Clean and properly store equipment.

+ Report burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room all lights to supervisor.

+ Perform other duties as deemed necessary or directed.

+ Seasonal Tasks: Snow removal of entrance ways and watering of container plants

Requirements:

+ Must be 18+ years of age.

+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.

+ Experience in long-term care, assisted living community or ALR homecare setting working with older adults is a plus.

+ Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move with ease.

+ Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies in excess of fifty (50) pounds.

+ Ability to communicate in English (reading, speaking, and understanding). Possess interpersonal and communication skills to communicate tactfully with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government regulators and the public.

+ Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Possess ability to make mature, independent decisions in a timely manner.

+ Be a quick learner, empathetic, compassionate, and with ability to preserve the dignity and self-image of residents.

+ Able to act professionally – arrive on time for your shifts, communicate variances as needed. Willingness to attend and participate in on-the-job training.

+ Ability to maintain confidential information and treat all elders and staff with respect.
