Job Description
A top Oil & Gas customer in Richmond, CA, is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team. This role involves working in the GC (Gas Chromatography) and Resid Team in the Global Lab Service Unit. This team is responsible for Pilot Plant Operations and Refinery Tech Support. The successful applicant will work with the lead chemist on various routine and research projects, which support the analytical needs of all customer operating companies.
• Prepare samples (dilutions, standards, solvent extractions) and perform standard and non-standard analytical measurements using the following techniques: Gas Chromatography (conventional GCMS and GCFID ) and wet chemistry.
• Excellent documentation skills and competency with Microsoft Excel is highly desired.
• Some of the technician's time will be spent helping the lead scientist responsible for the GC lab with more advanced analytical methods and performing experiments associated with strategic research.
Oversee all safety-related aspects of the Environmental lab, including maintaining chemical inventory and checking waste containers to comply with safe practices and requirements.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's in Chemistry OR a related area WITH 1-3 years of lab experience
Gas chromatography (conventional GCMS and GCFID) and wet chemistry experience
Recent academic lab and instrumentation experience
Bio-chemistry lab experience
Excellent documentation skills and competency with Microsoft Excel Competency in maintaining and repairing lab apparatus is highly desirable for this position.
