Job Summary
The Senior Cost Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on the company’s cost structures to support strategic decision-making. This role will partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to evaluate manufacturing costs, identify trends, and provide recommendations that drive profitability and efficiency. The Senior Cost Analyst will play a key role in developing cost models, supporting budgeting processes, and improving cost control measures across the organization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets sub-ledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation for domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
+ Manage the Request for Appropriation (RFA) process, ensuring compliance with requirements, tracking capital asset purchases, and providing cost/savings justifications.
+ Coordinate and conduct fixed asset physical inventories globally, reconciling results and supporting accurate reporting.
+ Partner with the Financial Leadership to evaluate the accounting treatment of new lease arrangements.
+ Prepare recurring reports such as the open purchase order report, fixed asset roll-forward, and future minimum lease payment schedule.
+ Analyze cost reports, variances, and profitability studies across product lines and business units.
+ Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement teams to review material, labor, overhead, vendor costs, and raw material trends.
+ Provide insights to support pricing, inventory valuation, margin improvement initiatives, and cost reduction opportunities.
+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes with accurate cost-related data.
+ Enhance cost accounting support globally by building relationships with branch teams and improving reporting processes.
+ Coordinate with Operations on inventory cycle counts and physical inventories, including audits and root cause analysis.
+ Monitor key cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
+ Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership through clear, actionable reports or presentations.

Job Specifications
Skills
+ Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent preferred).
+ Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities.
+ Ability to work with personnel at various levels of management.
Education
+ Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field.
+ Preferred: CPA, CMA, or MBA.
Work Experience
+ Required: 3 years of experience in cost analysis or financial analysis preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Preferred: Experience with SAGE.
+ Preferred: Experience with ERP systems.
+ Preferred: Experience with Infor Syteline.
Physical Requirements
+ High stress tolerance with a highly developed sense of urgency.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
+ Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
