This position will be located at our **Plymouth, MI** location.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Process Control:** Establish best practices for new and existing processes to continuously improve our methods and control systems
2. **Assist in the implementation of capital equipment:** Responsible for sizing and selection of equipment for filtration systems such as RO, BWRO, SF, MF [AN1] (pressure vessels, valves, pumps, instruments, etc. as needed) and assist in procurement & installation of custom equipment to expand technical capability
3. **Contribute to transforming and scaling new equipment:** Prepare relevant documents, perform design justifications, and develop processes to maximize efficiency and reliability.
4. **PFD/MB/P&ID completion and release** : Responsible for creation of PFD/MB/P&ID following the design justifications and technical documents from customers/venders. Select vendors and coordinate procurement to meet schedule and budget
5. **Supporting sales team** : supporting the sales team with technical insight in preparation of proposals and contracts (being consulted as needed). Engage with customers, remotely or onsite—to clarify scope and ensure expectations are aligned.
**Knowledge** : Ability to perform RO projections, understanding bioreactors (MBR, MBBR), evaporation process, distillation, and others.
Major Challenges:
1. Industry specific design and performance standards are complex and vary widely
2. Variation in raw material supply and manufacturing methodologies present challenges to process repeatability and product performance
3. Driving results – requiring working together with a cross-functional team with conflicting priorities
4. Understanding the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product and tying those to the processes
Expected Performance Outcomes:
1. Design repeatable processes
2. Select right equipment, develop process design on time with backed up data, achieve 100% of the desired outcomes in commissioning phase
3. Develop required tools to increase efficiency of process design team
4. Develop robust processes that yield zero customer returns for quality
Required Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical or Material Science Eng;
2. 5-10 years’ experience in engineering, in wastewater treatment
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
1. Strong process engineering and analytical skills
2. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
3. Experience working with ASTM/ASME Standards
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
5. Excellent verbal & written communication skills
6. Ability to draw P&IDs in AutoCAD
7. Experience sizing filtration system (hydraulicly)
