    Job Description

    The AbbVie Process Chemistry is seeking a Scientist I, to specialize in antibody drug conjugate (ADC) chemistry.

     

    The Process Chemistry department within Synthetic Molecules CMC R&D is responsible for the synthetic chemistry technology required for preparation of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for use in preclinical and early clinical studies.

     

    Experience with both antibody drug conjugate chemistry and small molecule synthetic organic chemistry are required.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Independently design and conduct critical experiments and generate reliable and consistent results that further project goals.

    + Consistently apply the appropriate process analytical technologies (PAT) to efficiently produce high-quality data.

    + Interpret results, draw conclusions, and propose or pursue relevant follow-up experiments.

    + Understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems in a timely manner.

    + Understand and adhere to corporate standards for code of conduct, safety, material handling, and GxP compliance.

    Qualifications

    + A bachelor’s (+5 years of experience) or master’s degree (+2 years of experience) in chemistry.

    + Experience with small molecule pharmaceutical process development, in a GMP environment.

    + Experience with antibody drug conjugate pharmaceutical process development, in a GMP environment.

    + The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. ​

    + We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.​

    + This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​

    + This job is eligible to participate in our long-term incentive programs​

    Salary: $73,000 - $138,500
