PagerDuty seeks ambitious, tech-savvy Business Development Representatives to join our high-performing sales development team. Reporting to the Manager of Sales Development, you will partner with Account Executives to build and qualify the pipeline through modern prospecting techniques. This role serves as the foundation of our sales organization and the launching pad for your sales career at PagerDuty.
As a BDR, you'll be the first point of contact with potential customers, representing PagerDuty's brand and solutions to technology leaders across industries. You'll leverage a multi-channel prospecting approach to engage decision-makers, understand their challenges, and articulate PagerDuty's value proposition effectively.
Overview Of The Role
PagerDuty is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our diverse, customer-focused team! As a BDR, you will report to a Manager of Sales Development and collaborate closely with our talented Account Executives, fueling their pipelines with promising opportunities and conquering territories together.
You'll be at the forefront of our Sales Department, representing the PagerDuty brand and serving as the initial point of contact for Enterprise and Strategic Greenfield accounts. Your role will be to ignite their interest through creative outbound prospecting, nurturing & educating prospects with PagerDuty's incredible value while sourcing qualified opportunities for our sales organization.

Key Responsibilities
**Value-Based Selling -** Focus on highlighting PagerDuty's unique value and benefits, emphasizing solutions that address specific customer needs and challenges beyond just features and price
+ Effectively communicate PagerDuty's business value proposition to evaluate purchase interest, demonstrating passion for digital transformation and innovation
+ Quickly adapt to the Command of the Message (COM) selling model and employ solution selling/customer-centric sales methodologies
**Sales Effectiveness & Relationship Building -** Establish, oversee and maintain genuine connections with customers throughout the sales process
+ Consistently achieve sales goals while maintaining a proven track record of success
+ Exhibit strong collaboration and time management skills to maximize efficiency and productivity
Sales Execution & Account Development
+ Research & strategically target Greenfield Enterprise and Strategic accounts while sourcing qualified opportunities
+ Ensure all customer records are updated accurately in SFDC; prepare carefully for customer meetings and presentations
+ Follow up diligently to ensure agreements and commitments are fulfilled, contributing to PagerDuty's long-term strategic initiatives
+ Utilize best practices in account development, leveraging phone, email, video, and social technologies
+ Employ discovery processes to engage with practitioners and management levels of target accounts
+ Proficiently use Salesforce, Sales Navigator, Outreach and Demandbase & other tools to optimize sales activities and focus
Basic Qualifications
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with potential customers and build relationships
+ Excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple leads and opportunities effectively
+ Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic sales environment
+ Passion for technology
+ 1-2 years of experience in outbound prospecting
Preferred Qualifications
+ Prior sales development experience
+ Experience using Salesforce CRM, other prospecting tools such as Gong, Outreach.io , DemandBase
+ Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
The base salary range for this position is $60,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
