    DUTIES:

    Under indirect and intermittent supervision, to have charge of and to be responsible for the operation of the Keokuk Plant Storeroom; to be responsible for, as required, one or more occasional helpers; to handle the routine requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing and other related work of the unit in accordance with standard procedure; and to do similar and less skilled work as required. In this connection, to perform details of work, such as:

     

    Requisition for replenishment, follow up on delivery, receive, check, receipt for and store materials, tools, spare parts, etc·. and process freight bills.

     

    Issue or direct the issuance of materials, tools, spare parts, etc. consistent with approved requisitions and standard stores procedures.

     

    Make deliveries of stock materials and those other materials under stores' control, as required, to specified locations within the plant.

     

    Maintain stock of spare parts and materials.

     

    Contact suppliers to secure materials, supplies and services, as authorized by stores and purchasing procedures, keeping appropriate records and making those reports necessary for control by the approving authority.

     

    Maintain record cards as specified by storeroom procedure.

     

    Coordinate movement of materials under stores' control between the plant and outside suppliers and other company locations with appropriate personnel.

     

    Route report and requisition copies to proper department. Make inventories as required.

     

    Operate powered material handling equipment and tools as required to receive and issue material.

    SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    For the proper custody and accounting for material stocks.

     

    For keeping a clean and orderly storeroom to minimize the possibility of accidents.

    CONTACTS:

    With express or freight deliverymen, suppliers and customers when receiving, filling orders and adjusting complaints; with local suppliers, buyers, follow-up clerks, superintendents, foremen, materials controllers or stock control clerks, concerning materials on hand or on order.

     

    With various departments in connection with material requirements or withdrawals.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Exposed to outside weather conditions when occasionally working outside. Subject to some dust, draft and average warehouse conditions.

    HAZARDS:

    Subject to ordinary risks from handling materials in and about a warehouse or yard, and to some hazard of injuries while operating powered material handling equipment and tools.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduation from high school or equivalent.

     

    Two years of experience as a Senior Assistant Storekeeper-Relief or Assistant Storekeeper.

     

    Previous experience as a Truck Driver - Stock Clerk.

     

    Must write a legible hand and be accurate in all record keeping work; have a thorough working knowledge of stocks, standard procedure and safe practices as related to storeroom work; demonstrated ability to instruct, direct and supervise others.

     

    Have average physical strength and endurance.

     

    MO Class E License or equivalent is preferred

     

    Ability to participate in Medical Surveillance Program preferred

    Hourly Pay:

    Grade Step IA 087 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 47.27 USD
