    The Jacobs Boise, Idaho office has an immediate need for a Project Assistant. This administrative position will assist the Portfolio Manager and local Project Managers directly. Initially this role will be assigned to a project site location in downtown Boise. This position may therefore require travel at times.

     

    As a Project Assistant(PA) you’ll be responsible for supporting day-to-day project activities. You’ll play a critical role in the success of our project teams by taking on tasks from the Project Managers, while allowing them to focus on client relationships and accountability. You’ll oversee the daily administration needs including: Communications, project support functions, and Project Manager-assigned tasks. You may also provide additional administrative and staff support services as needed. Using your experience, you’ll be comfortable interfacing with project managers, engineers, operators and executives.

     

    This is an entry level administrative position with the intention to prepare you to work with minimal supervision, multitask effectively, use independent judgment, and have the initiative to take on new tasks and challenges. You’ll use your experience-based judgment to evaluate situations and develop solutions and work with minimal oversight to achieve assignment outcomes and manage your workload. Your work is frequently complex, proprietary, and confidential, and requires both strong administrative skills as well as excellent inter-personal and team communication skills. Some examples of daily work may include, but not limited to, the following:

     

    * Create budget summary reports through Excel

    * Basic understanding of project budget

    * Be able to communicate clearly with sub-consultants and clients

    * Knowledge of the project life cycle

    * Function as point of contact during the project

     

    This is a non-exempt hourly paid position.

     

    * HS Diploma, or equivalent

    * At least 2 years of previous administrative experience

    * Possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, organizational and analytical abilities

    * Adept at taking responsibility for multiple assignments, prioritizing conflicting tasks, and working with little supervision to meet deadlines and quality standards

    * Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work on a highly professional level with clients and internal team members

    * Ability to work well independently and on a team

    * Ability to respectfully work with, and take direction from, multiple levels of tradesmen and professional staff

    * Comfortable with desktop applications

    * Ability to work a predictable and consistent schedule

    * Must be able to lift 25 pounds

    * Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for job site which will be provided

    * Must prioritize safety when on the job site

    Ideally, You'll Also Have:

    * Advanced education, or equivalent experience

    * Previous administrative experience within the Design, Engineering or Construction industries

    * A basic understanding of SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam and Microsoft products
