You’ll work on impactful transportation infrastructure projects with a focus on Alternative Delivery, including Public-Private Partnerships (P3/PPP), and collaborate with experts across planning, traffic, environmental, and drainage disciplines.
We’re looking for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and lead multidisciplinary efforts in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
What You’ll Do
* Lead roadway design tasks for highway transportation projects, including interchanges and elevated sections.
* Serve as EOR on major TDOT projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with state and federal standards.
* Manage multi-discipline engineering design and oversee construction plan development.
* Apply expertise in TDOT and FHWA design principles and alternative delivery methods (P3/PPP, design-build).
* Build and maintain strong relationships with TDOT and other regional agencies.
* Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative team culture.
* Represent Jacobs at client meetings, public forums, and professional organizations.
* Support proposal development and strategic pursuits for Tennessee-based transportation projects.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Active PE license (Tennessee preferred or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
* Minimum 10 years of transportation engineering experience, including P3/PPP projects.
* Proven experience working with TDOT or similar transportation agencies.
* Strong understanding of design-build, risk allocation, and lifecycle cost analysis.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
