    Robert Half Technology (Houston, TX)


    Description

    As our team expands, we are looking for a dedicated IT Administrator to ensure our systems run smoothly, our users are supported, and our data remains secure. The IT Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, network devices, and user accounts. You’ll provide day-to-day support to end users, manage IT assets, implement security measures, and support ongoing technology initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide technical support to users for hardware, software, and network issues (Tier 1–2 support)

    + Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices

    + Manage Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange, and user access permissions

    + Monitor and support local and cloud-based networks and servers

    + Perform regular system backups and test disaster recovery procedures

    + Ensure patch management and endpoint protection across all systems

    + Maintain IT inventory and documentation

    + Assist with onboarding/offboarding of employees and IT equipment provisioning

    + Support VPN, remote access, and cloud collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom)

    + Implement and maintain IT security policies and best practices

    + Work with vendors and service providers to support hardware/software purchases and repairs

    Requirements

    Required:

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

    + 2–4 years of experience in IT support or systems administration

    + Proficiency in Windows desktop and server environments

    + Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing

    + Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)

    + Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service orientation

    + Excellent organizational and communication skills

    Preferred:

    + Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, or equivalent

    + Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)

    + Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS)

    + Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)

    + Experience supporting cybersecurity tools (EDR, MFA, SIEM)
