• Senior Systems Engineer

    Description

    Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain essential IT infrastructure. This position is ideal for an experienced and hands-on professional with expertise in Microsoft technologies and network security - and telephony systems experience and AI integrations experience are preferred.

     

    This is a contract-to-hire role, and is onsite 5 days a week in Oakland, CA.

    Key Responsibilities:

    -Serve as technical escalation for complex IT infrastructure issues.

     

    -Design, deploy, and optimize IT systems, ensuring security and reliability.

     

    -Manage enterprise applications, virtual environments, and networks.

     

    -Oversee telephony systems, including AI-enabled integrations.

     

    -Drive security management protocols and best practices.

     

    -Mentor team members and collaborate across departments.

    Requirements

    Top Skills Required:

    -Microsoft Ecosystem Expertise: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft technologies (Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, etc.).

     

    -Security Knowledge: Strong foundation in network security, and telephony experience preferred.

     

    -ITIL framework understanding for streamlined change and incident management.

    Nice-to-Have Skills:

    -Telephony + AI Integration – Experience with ShoreTel and/or Cisco telephony systems, plus familiarity with AI integrations for features like language identification or switching.

     

    -Familiarity with virtualization tools, including VMware and Hyper-V.

    Qualifications:

    -Bachelor’s in IT or comparable experience (7+ years in infrastructure engineering).

     

    -Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

     

    -Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Security+, ITIL).
