Intermediate Architect/Job Captain

Job Description

The Intermediate Architect/Job Captain will work directly under the Architectural Principal and Project Architect, supporting the delivery of projects through all phases. This role involves contributing to design, documentation, and coordination efforts for projects primarily focused on data centers, generator buildings, and other complex infrastructures.

Responsibilities

+ Contribute to design efforts including conceptual contributions, client presentations, and studies.

+ Support documentation processes through design development, drafting, detailing, and creation of construction documents.

+ Coordinate closely with clients, in-house engineers, and lead and mentor junior staff.

+ Partner with the Architectural Principal to ensure project success.

+ Understand and process shop drawings, assisting engineers with architectural tasks on engineering projects.

Essential Skills

+ Expert proficiency in Revit for 3-dimensional drafting.

+ Experience in architecture, particularly with complex building and new construction projects.

+ Ability to deliver client presentations and utilize Enscape and Twinmotion.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 2+ years of professional experience.

+ Core and shell experience is preferred.

+ Engineering coordination experience required.

+ Willingness to travel is highly preferred for out-of-state projects.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work schedule with a 4/1 structure, allowing the entire office to work from home on Fridays. The office provides a face-to-face collaborative environment with in-house architects and engineers, fostering ample opportunities for collaboration. Located in midtown across from the NY Public Library, the firm consists of approximately 15-20 staff members, including 2 architects, 6 engineers, principals, and administrative staff. The firm offers an unlimited PTO policy and, post-conversion, health, dental, vision, and a 3% 401k match. There is potential for a partnership track.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $44.00/hr.
