BEACH FRONT OFFICE: EMC Engineer
Job Description
As an EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for driving product approvals by coordinating testing and certification for electronic and electromechanical systems. You will support global compliance efforts, from early design checks to final certification, working directly with external labs and regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals. Your role will also involve advising design teams on compliance needs during product development and helping estimate regulatory timelines.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain organized records of testing, reviews, and certifications.
+ Review and update documentation to meet regulatory standards.
+ Contribute to industry standards discussions when needed.
+ Develop internal procedures to support certification workflows.
+ Support audits and help ensure ongoing product compliance.
+ Assist in setting up lab equipment and refining testing practices.
+ Train engineering teams on regulatory requirements and best practices.
Essential Skills
+ Extensive experience with EMC testing.
+ Working knowledge of compliance agency standards (UL, CSA, IEC, NSF).
+ Hands-on experience certifying electronic products to international safety standards.
+ Familiarity with global compliance frameworks and product approval processes.
+ Strong understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and design strategies.
+ Solid grasp of mechanical, electrical, and fluid system fundamentals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
+ 3+ years of regulatory agency experience in a design and testing environment.
+ Knowledge of standards like UL, UL 1563, IEC, and NSF is a plus.
+ Experience designing printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a focus on EMC performance.
+ Clear and professional communicator, able to work with customers, suppliers, and certifying bodies.
+ Skilled at interpreting test results and resolving setup issues.
Work Environment
This position is located in a manufacturing facility. The facility offers a unique location right on the beach, providing employees the opportunity to enjoy walks during the summer. Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
- 401k- Safe Harbor benefit additional 3% in 401k after year 1- Health insurance premium reduction for healthy living- Gym reimbursement $100/quarter
