Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled CMM/Dimensional Metrology Engineer to lead the development and implementation of CMM and Vision System programs, inspection fixtures, and measurement strategies for both new product development and production. This role plays a critical part in ensuring precision, compliance, and efficiency across our quality operations.
Responsibilities
+ Develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs for dimensional inspection.
+ Maximize efficiency and repeatability of CMM and Vision System processes.
+ Collaborate with toolmakers to design and build custom gauges and fixtures.
+ Support cross-functional teams in quality-related initiatives and continuous improvement.
+ Apply GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) at a technologist level to support inspection and analysis.
+ Mentor technicians in metrology applications and measurement techniques.
+ Interpret and implement tolerance regimes, including micro-scale metrology.
+ Utilize contact and non-contact sensors (CMMs, Vision Systems) for 1D, 2D, and 3D measurement.
+ Perform basic Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), including GR&R and statistical validation.
+ Assist in NPI and manufacturing projects requiring dimensional verification.
+ Interface with customers and suppliers to align on quality standards and project goals.
+ Apply national and international standards in selection and acceptance testing of measurement systems.
+ Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all quality activities.
+ Contribute to other quality engineering tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of CMM programming experience.
+ CAD proficiency, especially with SolidWorks.
+ Strong working knowledge of GD&T and applied dimensional metrology.
+ Experience with metrology software and programming languages such as C++ and VB.
+ Ability to interpret and establish measurement methods considering sub-micrometer error sources.
+ Familiarity with GR&R, GUM, and statistical analysis tools.
+ Proven project support experience across engineering and quality functions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Calypso preferred for CMM programming.
+ ProE preferred for CAD.
+ Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
+ 3+ years of Vision System programming (e.g., OGP, Micro-Vu).
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Post Falls, Idaho.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $50.50/hr.
