    Electrical Designer

     

    Actalent is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Designer to support a leading engineering firm specializing in custom industrial solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys turning concepts into precise, build-ready designs.

    What You’ll Do

    + Independently generate electrical design documents using sketches, marked-up drawings, and vendor data.

    + Create accurate and timely drawings including panel layouts, schematics, conduit and cable tray designs, wire schedules, one-line diagrams, and loop diagrams.

    + Prepare bidding and construction documents and maintain drawing files using the Drawing Control Index (DCI).

    + Design instrumentation and device stands, and coordinate with vendors to verify materials and prepare purchase orders.

    + Support shipping and assembly teams with tagging, cataloging, and coordination with panel shops.

    + Conduct field verification and site visits to ensure design accuracy and implement document changes.

    + Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% annually, including regular visits between the St. Louis headquarters and Red Bud, IL manufacturing facility.

    What You Bring

    + 5–7 years of experience in electrical design, including conduit/cable tray schedules, schematics, and field verification.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014 or newer, including AutoCAD 3D and AutoCAD Electrical.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to create both 2D and 3D layouts.

    + Ability to interpret engineering notes and sketches into detailed design documents.

    + Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based programs.

    + Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Applied Science, or a related field.

    + Professional engineering office setting, with in-office work required 5 days a week.

    + Travel to manufacturing facility in Red Bud, IL is part of the role.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
