    Maintenance Technician (Electrical & PLC Specialist)

    **Location:** Dalton, GA

    **Type:** Full-Time | Onsite | 1st Shift

     

    Shift: 7am-5:30pm shift Monday through Thursday. Fridays are optional/voluntary overtime.

    Job Summary:

    QEP is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and PLC experience to maintain and optimize production machinery. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in industrial automation and electrical systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems

    + Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including motors, drives, sensors, and control panels

    + Program, diagnose, and maintain PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred)

    + Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams

    + Conduct test runs and calibrations on automated equipment

    + Maintain detailed logs of electrical repairs and PLC modifications

    + Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machine reliability

    + Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes

    + Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment

    Skills & Abilities:

    + Proficient in PLC troubleshooting, programing would be ideal but not required.

    + Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems (480V, 3-phase, low-voltage DC)

    + Familiarity with VFDs, HMI interfaces, and control networks

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

    + Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

    Education & Experience:

    + Technical diploma or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field

    + 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment

    + Certifications in PLC or electrical systems a plus

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments

    + Comfortable with standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods

    + Visual acuity for inspecting electrical components and reading schematics

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
