Job Title: Fabricator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to weld together cabinets that house electrical components for locomotive controls. The role involves utilizing blueprints to correctly assemble pre-fabricated parts, and performing primarily MIG and some TIG welding on mild steel.

Responsibilities

+ Weld cabinets that house electrical components for locomotive controls.

+ Utilize blueprints to accurately weld products together.

+ Sample assemblies to determine assembly duties and select materials.

+ Perform MIG and TIG welding on mild steel.

+ Operate machines such as bench lathe, milling machine, punch press, shear, brake press, drill press, metal saw, and welding machine.

+ Set up and operate manual lathe, mill, and brake press.

+ Set up and operate CNC brake press.

+ Measure to perfect specification using a tape measure.

Essential Skills

+ Experience as a fabricator.

+ Ability to work from blueprints.

+ Proficiency in measuring using a tape measure.

+ Experience with punch press, shear press, and milling.

+ Manual lathe and mill experience.

+ CNC brake press experience.

+ Ability to calculate decimals and inches.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with drill press and shear.

+ Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

The facility is a clean, well-lit environment with individual workstations similar to a job shop setup. The team-oriented atmosphere encourages collaboration and a positive work culture. The company is non-union and focuses on building electrical controls and cabinetry for re-engineered control panels for locomotives. The work schedule is from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with optional overtime on weekends.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minooka, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
