Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the AFTERBURNER-DUFFY'S. Responsibilities Purpose of this position is to manage the part time Snack Bar operations of the Afterburner Gaming Center and Duffy's Lounge. Reporting directly to the Flight Chief, is responsible for an economic and efficient food and beverage operation. Ensures revenues and expenditures are properly accounted for, submitting daily accounting documentation as required in a timely manner. Provides accurate financial reports and maintains accountability over assets. Ensures inventories and records are accurately maintained. Recommends to the Flight Chief operating budgets and provides justifications for major purchases in the food and beverage areas of the cost centers. Maintains accounting and accountability requirements for sales and costs. Ensures daily Profit and Loss Statements are prepared. Supervises workforce assigned. Directs and oversees the setting and placement of various food and beverage s services for special functions, in and outside the facilities. Ensures assigned staff prepares F & B items correctly. Schedules sufficient and appropriate personnel to meet demands of the operations. Provides initial and recurring training to subordinates. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to interviewing new applicants, and recommending selections. Recommends disciplinary actions and approves/disapproves leave. Provides annual evaluations, regular performance feedback, and award recommendations. Ensures cost cards are maintained, and recommends pricing is set to meet budget expectations. Takes corrective actions when food and beverage costs exceed established goals. Ensures adequate inventory levels of all items needed for the food and beverage operations are maintained. Monitors public health requirements and ensures compliance with all Air Force health and sanitation requirements. Ensures that all disciplinary actions are administered properly and documented. Ensures subordinate personnel enforce job performance standards and internal control procedures to ensure progressive, profitable, and efficient operations. Works with Marketing, developing publicity and marketing materials to promote use of the facilities. Working with other activity managers, recommends entertainment and recreational programs to promote F&B activities. Implements higher level directives and formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage services are in place and maintained. Ensures proper military and civilian protocol are always followed. Deals effectively with superiors, employees, and customers. Ensures DRAM SHOP training is accomplished and enforced by the assigned employees. Performs other related duties as assigned. Irregular tour of duty required. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which provided a general knowledge of management or leadership principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in the food and beverage functions which demonstrated ability to perform duties of the position. Experience must demonstrate an active leadership or supervisory role in a food and beverage operation, and a knowledge and understanding of its financial operations. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
