PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this job is to manage the monthly processing of unit statistical data to the Workers’ Compensation Bureaus, such as the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Board of California (WCIRB) and the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), as well as other data call processing as they arise. This role exists in order to ensure that this mandated reporting is completed thoroughly and accurately on a monthly basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the USR process on a monthly basis for all Worker’s Compensation policies in all states.
+ Compiles a working list of policies to be submitted.
+ Reviews regulatory rules for any changes in Unit Stat reporting requirements specific to a policy or claim.
+ Understands the rules behind different types of claims per bureau specifications.
+ Updates claim information for non-compensable, subrogation, or joint coverage claims.
Manages Data Calls from outside agencies and states.
+ Gathers and submits information needed for regulatory reports required by various insurance departments, rating bureaus, and states.
+ Works closely with claims and actuary to gather the information needed to complete calls and respond to regulatory inquiries.
+ Improves processes and procedures to make sure timely and accurate information is given to any state agency.
Investigates and resolves inconsistencies in reports.
+ Researches discrepancies by comparing across multiple systems.
+ Reviews bureau lists and company lists to ensure data is consistent throughout.
+ Reviews claim coding for duplicate or other incorrect information.
Interfaces with multiple departments and outside agencies.
+ Works closely with Claims department regarding claim rules and coding.
+ Collaborates with Premium Audit department regarding payroll audits and Classification questions.
+ Communicates effectively with underwriting team members regarding inquiries from bureaus.
+ Responds to inquiries received from rating agencies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required. Associate’s degree from two-year college: Business Administration, Accounting classes, preferred. Minimum 2 years of clerical experience in General Accounting; or minimum 2 years of experience in data reporting or analytical work.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Working knowledge of General Accounting principles and practices with data reporting or analytical roles. Proficient in using analysis tools such as Excel, Access, etc. Understanding and demonstrated application of statistical analysis tools. Key characteristics required: independent work habits, attention to detail, sense of urgency, communication skills, ability to multitask; adaptability and flexibility to perform work at all levels.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment – no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands and employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of a computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.

The current range for this position is
$22.54 - $35.54
This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
