    Platform lead for Azure and Databricks

     

    Hybrid on Oahu, Hawaii

    Description

    We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Platform Lead to oversee and stabilize our Azure Data Factory and Databricks environment. This individual will serve as the primary owner of the platform, resolving current issues, implementing best practices across security and DevOps, and long-term convert into a full time role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Platform Ownership: Act as the primary point of contact for Azure Data Factory and Databricks, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability.

     

    Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve existing platform issues, including data pipeline failures, security gaps, and DevOps bottlenecks.

     

    Security & Governance: Implement and maintain robust security practices across the platform, including access controls, data protection, and compliance.

     

    DevOps Integration: Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and environment management.

     

    Stakeholder Collaboration: Represent the platform in cross-functional meetings, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical strategy.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure DevOps.

     

    Strong understanding of cloud security principles and governance frameworks.

     

    Experience mentoring or onboarding technical team members.

     

    Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with contractors and internal teams.

     

    Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    Experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, or other IaC tools.

     

    Familiarity with data engineering workflows and Spark optimization.

     

    Expert knowledge in platform architecture or cloud infrastructure leadership.

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
