• Data Center Technician

    TEKsystems (Ellendale, ND)


     

    Duration: 6+ Months

     

    All Expenses Covered: Travel, Per Diem, Transportation, Lodging

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated L3/L4 Data Center Engineer to support the buildout and operational readiness of a new data center in Ellendale, ND. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to relocate for the duration of the project. All travel and living expenses will be fully covered.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Maintain data center operations to ensure high availability and reliability

    + Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and perform repairs

    + Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures

    + Train internal teams on systems and procedures

    + Develop and maintain technical documentation

    + Provide technical support to data center teams

    + Create scripts to automate updates for server and networking hardware

    + Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and components

    + Assemble, install, and configure data center equipment

    + Perform maintenance on test and tools equipment

    + Occasionally travel to other data center locations as needed

    Required Skills

    + Data center operations and infrastructure

    + Rack and stack procedures

    + Hardware troubleshooting and repair

    + Cabling and cable management

    + Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos configuration

    + Scripting in Python and Bash

    Additional Qualifications

    + Experience with computer hardware (assembly and troubleshooting)

    + Proficiency in Linux operating systems

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated locations (reasonable accommodations provided)

    + Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call rotation and after-hours support

    + Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills

    + Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to issues

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
