    WHAT IS OPS EMPLOYMENT?

     

    Other Personal Services (OPS) employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used solely for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignment and terminations at the recommendation of the employer.

    DESCRIPTION:

    The Bureau of General Services is seeking an individual to work in a warehouse environment processing records. This position requires strong detailed oriented skills. Major duties will be working within a warehouse processing records. This position will serve as a back up to the mail room preparing, sorting, and shipping USPS, FedEx, and internal mail.

     

    Performs other duties as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:

    A valid driver's license is required.

    A High School diploma is required.

     

    Must be able to lift 35-pound boxes daily.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Preference will be given to candidates with 1-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment.

     

    Experience working with a forklift, preferred.

     

    Knowledge of working with records/ files.

     

    Ability to communicate effectively.

     

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

     

    Skilled in the use of personal computers, including a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

    SPECIAL NOTES:

    All prospective candidates will be subject to a sex offender check, criminal background checks (state, local and national) and pre-employment drug screening for direct care positions.

    A valid driver's license is required for this position. If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver's license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
