Description

Tyto Athene is hiring a **Senior DevSecOps & Automation Engineer** with deep expertise in Kubernetes orchestration and strong hands-on experience with Turbot Steampipe and Powerpipe. This role blends DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and cloud automation to build secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that powers high-impact workloads.

Responsibilities:

+ Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available, cloud-native systems (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP optional)

+ Develop and streamline automation workflows using **Turbot Steampipe** and **Powerpipe** for infrastructure visibility, compliance, and efficiency

+ Build and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks (Terraform, Ansible)

+ Design, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and applications

+ Administer containerized workloads (Kubernetes / Docker) with a focus on resilience and scale

+ Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediations

+ Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews

+ Collaborate closely with security, compliance, and architecture teams to ensure frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and CMMC are properly integrated

+ Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across the team

Qualifications

Required:

+ U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to work with government-facing clients and associated regulatory requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

+ 5+ years in DevSecOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure roles

+ Strong production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration

+ Hands-on with Turbot Steampipe and Powerpipe implementation for infrastructure operations

+ Solid cloud experience (AWS preferred, plus Azure or GCP)

+ Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)

+ Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)

+ Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security

Desired:

+ Experience in regulated/compliance environments (FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC, HIPAA)

+ Familiarity with CSPM, zero-trust, IAM, and security hardening

+ Background in service mesh, serverless, disaster recovery, or business continuity

+ Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps, GCP SRE, Azure DevOps)

+ Exposure to incident management tools (PagerDuty, Opsgenie, etc.)

About Tyto Athene

Compensation:

+ Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140K-$160K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
