• Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee the quality performance of assigned suppliers. This role includes managing product/part qualifications, tracking metrics, implementing quality improvement plans, and conducting root cause analyses for quality issues. The engineer will also mentor suppliers on quality standards and provide onsite support as needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage supplier qualifications to ensure consistent compliance with engineering drawings and specifications

    • Lead product and manufacturing process qualifications and ensure timely closures

    • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers through rigorous quality and compliance audits

    • Conduct surveillance audits to verify process control and quality systems

    • Own Supplier Responsibility Governance (SRG) metrics and conduct audits

    • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and issues

    • Manage non-conformance and Supplier Deviation Request (SDR) activities

    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions

    • Serve as the technical liaison between sourcing, engineering, and suppliers

    • Ensure adherence to quality procedures and specifications

    • Provide technical guidance to suppliers

    • Collaborate with commercial, engineering, and manufacturing teams

    • Contribute sourcing quality input during product design reviews

    Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or advanced technical degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering

    • 8–12 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Supplier Development

    • Minimum 3 years in Supply Chain or Supplier Quality

    • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings/specs, GD&T, and metrology

    • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or equivalent experience

    • Project management skills

    • Willingness to travel >50%, both domestically and internationally • ASNT Level II or III NDT certification

    • Familiarity with ASTM, ASME, and other industry standards

    • ISO Lead Auditor certification

    • Certified RCA Leader or equivalent problem-solving expertise

    • Experience with Lean methodology

    • Background in power generation equipment manufacturing

    • Strong process orientation and proactive issue ownership

    • Certified to lead Supplier Responsibility Guidelines programs in mandatory regions
