Summary DUTY LOCATION: 103d Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), East Granby, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Responsibilities Temporary promotion not to exceed two (2) years. The purpose of the temporary promotion is to backfill a Airman on active duty. The temporary promotion will be terminated within 30 days of return of the incumbent to the position. This is a temporary promotion that may convert to permanent without further competition. JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to direct and manage subordinate functional areas and to serve as a technical expert over these functional areas. This position provides supervision, subordinate guidance, and team leadership to dual status employees. Incumbent performs long-term planning and organizational development necessary to accomplish Deployment and Distribution functions for programs essential to ANG daily operations, training, and readiness missions. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the centralized command and control, planning, and execution of all wing deployment operations and the distribution of cargo and passengers. Exercises direct supervision over subordinate personnel. Recommends and participates in the selection of functional supervisors/employees. Advises the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander on flight related issues. Participates in unit assessments, inspections, installation deployment plans, deployments, disaster preparedness exercises, and Unit Control Center operations required to maintain the highest state of readiness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the organization and functions of areas involved in providing logistical support. Skills in integrating the actions of two or more specialized support activities for the purpose of meeting program goals. Ability to monitor such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan and identify delays or problems. Skills in working with persons at various levels and backgrounds. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/AFSC. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training. MILITARY GRADE (Prior to Application): Officer: O-1 through O-3 UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT: 103d Air Wing or any subordinate unit MANPOWER NUMBER: 0760-304 POSITION SEQUENCE NUMBER: 1062174 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. Education No substitution of education for specialized experience. Additional Information Primary Change of Station (PCS) relocation expenses will NOT be paid. In order to avoid losing your incentive eligibility, you should check with your serving incentive manager (CTARNG-G1 or CTANG-Retention Office) prior to accepting an offer for the position. For M-Day/Traditional personnel who are currently receiving incentives to include Bonuses and the Student Loan Repayment Program, the following termination rule applies: Incentive Termination without Recoupment: If you accept a Military Technician (Mil Tech) Permanent position where membership in the National Guard is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated with no recoupment as long as you have served at least 6 months of the bonus contract following receipt of the initial bonus payment.
