The Role: Full-Time Patient Transporter
+ **Location:** PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Vancouver, WA
+ **Shift:** Full Time, 0.9 FTE, Day (12-hour shifts, scheduled Wednesday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM)
+ **Salary** : $18.98 – $28.51 per hour, plus applicable shift differential pay.
Your Daily Focus: Keeping Our Level II Trauma Center Moving
As a Patient Transporter, you are the **vital connection** between hospital departments, ensuring every patient and every necessary item reaches its destination safely and with care. This is a very active, people-focused role.
+ **Move Patients Safely:** Greet patients and use wheelchairs or stretchers to transport them to and from procedures, tests, or rooms throughout the medical center.
+ **Provide Human Connection** : Engage patients in thoughtful conversation during transit, addressing any worries or discomfort to enhance their overall hospital stay.
+ **Expedite Critical Logistics:** Transport time-sensitive items—including blood products, lab samples, and specialized equipment—to support timely diagnosis and treatment.
+ **Support Care Teams:** Assist nurses and technicians by moving supplies, patient charts, and clean linen to maintain operational readiness in patient care areas.
+ **Maintain Equipment:** Clean and sanitize all transport equipment (stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.) following infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.

+ **Support Rapid Diagnostics:** The prompt delivery of critical lab specimens, such as tissue samples or stat blood work, is essential in a Trauma Center and directly speeds up the diagnostic process.
Qualifications and Your Career Trajectory

+ **Required Certification:** You will need to obtain **Basic Life Support (BLS)** certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross before your start date.
