Eaton Corporation has an opening for a Director Cloud Platform Engineering. This person will report directly to the Vice President IT Cloud Transformation. This will be a remote position.
Position Overview:
The Director is responsible for creating and establishing a product focused platform engineering mindset for enterprise cloud. Delivery of a truly agile operating model to deliver feature sets bringing cloud closer to the edge and simplifying the utilization of cloud by all functions within Eaton is the priority. Our goal is to ensure cloud adoption is easy and seamless and reflects capabilities that ensure our enterprise customer base can deliver with ease in a secure and cost effective manner.
In this role you will work across a broad set of functions to coordinate features for Eaton's enterprise cloud platforms. Key partnerships will include the product leader for cloud, cloud architecture functions, cyber, IT partners and the broader business functions that are delivering transformational capabilities to Eaton customers. You will coach and build a high energy, high performing team designed to adapt to the changing business environment while maintaining delivery focus.
As a leader within Eaton's Information Technology function, this position will have direct management responsibility, developing and directing a team of leaders, architects and developers to deliver business outcomes for our IT customer partners. Platform engineering will be key to ensuring the continual refinement and productivity of cloud based solutions in Eaton, ensuring the success of our applications.
Essential Functions:
• Build an organizational operating model to partner with product ownership and cloud architecture to ensure delivery of key cloud features for IT application and business application usage
• Define strategic direction of platform engineering and required capabilities to bring workloads into cloud faster
• Embrace AI capabilities, define ways to focus team members on value add tasks while allowing AI to complete lower value add tasks
• Embrace and teach true organizational agility required to deliver diverse feature sets in cloud across multiple technology stacks in a multi-cloud environment
• Participate in joint prioritization sessions focused on ensuring the right capabilities and features are built at the right time to accomplish Eaton's cloud aspirations
• Empower platform engineering organization to deliver feature sets utilizing agile framework and focus on continual delivery
• Partner with cloud architecture team to ensure cloud feature sets are fully developed, documented and ready for development
• Build communication strategy for ensuring all features are known, properly defined and ready for development
• Collaborate with teams including cyber, network, enterprise architecture, legacy platforms, applications and business functions to ensure solutions are effective
• Partner with cyber, network, legacy platforms, applications, enterprise architecture and business functions to ensure RACI is followed and communicated
• Partner with product management to ensure product roadmaps and delivery velocity is properly managed and delivered
• Establish, manage, deliver and continually improve communication and review processes across our enterprise IT partner community
• Manage relationships across Eaton enterprise IT and business community
• Design, develop and deliver processes for continual and consistent knowledge management throughout the cloud team, ensuring all key stakeholders have easy access
• Develop, deliver and manage processes tracking and sharing impact of cloud adoption throughout Eaton
• Drive continuous improvement of cloud capability and its delivery to Eaton stakeholders
Position Criteria:
• Experience transforming delivery teams to continuous delivery and agile frameworks
• Experience delivering cloud solutions to internal IT and business IT customers
• Expertise managing business relationships and corresponding priorities
• Versed in cloud concepts and capabilities
• Experience participating in peer based prioritization frameworks
• Understanding of delivering capabilities in Azure, OCI, AWS and/or GCP
• Established partnership experience with vendors providing cloud capability
• Lean/Six Sigma expertise and experience driving continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience as an analyst, project manager, engineer or program lead on highly complex technology projects and programs
• Experience managing business relationships for a centralized IT service.
• Centralized service budget management experience
• Manager of people experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Education:
• An undergraduate degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Compensation:
• Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation, long term incentive and complete benefits.
Location:
• This will be a remote position.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $176249.97 - $258499.96 a year.
