    Job Description Summary:

    The Manager, IT Product Development and Engineering is responsible for managing the planning and implementation of IT product development and engineering related projects and team members that impact corporate revenue stream, customer facing functions, or critical internal functions. Executes operating plan for specific team. Develops and implements strategy and vision for the team.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Oversees the planning and implementation of IT product development and engineering related projects that have an impact on corporate revenue stream, customer facing functions or critical internal functions. Manages project budgets, timelines, and risks.

    + Manage the execution and on-going day-to-day maintenance related activities of IT product development and engineering related initiatives & projects.

    + May assist senior manager and/or directors in the development of department budgets/plans.

    + Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, product, and internal departments to turn technical/business requirements into solutions.

    + Manage, supervise and evaluate business outputs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business goals.

    + Stay current with the latest advancements, research, and industry trends

    + Make sure of having documentation with design details and project details to share with cross functional teams

    + Collaborate with all IT teams (including DevOps and infrastructure teams) for seamless integration.

    + Collects and reviews information for improvement initiatives related to IT product development and engineering activities.

    + Coaches, mentors and develops team members through recruitment, hiring, development plans, performance management, career development, training to assure appropriate resources and minimize costs for completion of projects within designated time frames.

    + Manages internal ongoing second level support of existing applications/infrastructure, while being accountable to the business for overall support and business concerns and issues.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    (i.e. hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.)

    Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of progressive IT development experience within a software development team and 3 to 5 years of lead, supervisor or Manager experience of a software development team.

    + At least 5 years of experience with developing and writing requirement specifications and development.

    + At least 5 years of experience with software programming languages, coding standards. Familiar with two or more technologies that includes Java, Python, JavaScript and Golang

    + At least 5 years of experience with standard test tools and the testing processes.

    + MS SQL and T-SQL knowledge of including writing queries, procedures, triggers etc. Hands on experience preferred.

    + Has some experience in managing engineers in AI platforms like Palantir, AWS or Azure preferred

    Basic Qualifications

    + Previous experience managing projects.

    + Experience with SDLC/SW development processes (RUP, Scrum methodology and Agile framework)

    + Experience using analytical skills, tools and techniques to investigate information and to draw conclusions.

    + Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

    + Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization.

    + Knowledge of new technologies and trends in the retail, healthcare and information technology industries.

    + Experience communicating both verbally and in writing to various audiences of all levels.

    + Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors. Knowledge of technical design process and models.

    Travel Requirements

    + Minimal travel (0% - 5%) for business related purposes.

    Preferred Qualifications and Interests

    + Previous management experience.

    + Enjoys troubleshooting and solving software and engineering challenges

    Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

    Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

     

    Pay Range is $115,005.32-$191,683.02
