What We Want
The Systems Administrator I, under general direction, performs routine systems administration support functions, such as troubleshooting, research, debugging and problem solving.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Two years of systems administration experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting, client relations, formulating and contributing ideas, and the Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL).
+ Linux systems administration experience.
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
+ Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
+ One or more years of experience in developing, debugging, and administering Red Hat/Ubuntu systems including but not limited to software package management, software kernel patching, and failure recovery procedures.
+ One or more years of HPC related work experience at universities and other national HPC centers.
+ One or more years of experience with managing HPC high speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Omni-Path, or 40+ GbE).
+ One or more years of experience with managing storage subsystems using conventional RAID, Declustered RAID, or Erasure Coding in HPC environments.
+ One or more years of experience supporting both Linux and Windows systems in an Active Directory enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
+ System Administration- Installs, upgrades, and configures server hardware and software in an HPC environment. Assists with the design and implementation of server systems. Assists with the installation and configuration of network file servers and hardware. Completes server testing and application. Conducts basic server performance analyses and tuning. Creates programs for automating system administration. Repairs hardware and subsystems or works with vendor field engineers to resolve hardware or subsystem problems.
+ System Analysis- Helps analyze system logs and identify potential issues with workload management, systems and storage in an HPC environment. Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and software for servers. Troubleshoots and repairs configuration problems and assists with troubleshooting network problems. Provides Tier I support and assists with Tier II support. Documents and/or coordinates the development and use of software support structures for the collection and tracking of HPC system and storage utilization statistics.
+ Server Support- Documents server support methods, procedures, and configuration. Assists with new technology deployments and system integration testing.
