The Internal Traveler Program is an opportunity for healthcare professionals to explore the boundless possibilities at UVA Health. Internal Traveler positions are:
compensated competitively with other traveler positions,
available in a wide variety of clinical practice opportunities, and
are offered in 13-week blocks, which may be renewed up to a maximum of 39 weeks.

Opportunities are available for Respiratory Therapists in the Internal Traveler Program. We are seeking a competent clinician with moderate level knowledge, assessment, and therapeutic skills for respiratory conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy educational program. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 12 months of acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy clinical experience.
Licensure: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required (new graduates must obtain within 90 days of hire). Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Active NBRC Specialty Credential (e.g., RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS) preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
