    Duties Description This position is part of NYSTA's IT Engineering Systems team and will be responsible for supporting the Engineering department through all phases of the construction project lifecycle. We are looking for a software developer with experience in cloud, backend, frontend, middleware development, as well as strong web services (REST, ODATA, etc.) development and integration experience. This position also requires strong interpersonal and technical writing abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with AASHTOWare Project, BidX, and other products in the AASHTO suite.Specific Duties include but are not limited to:- Perform system analysis of enterprise and legacy software applications.- Administer enterprise and legacy software applications.- Develop documentation for enterprise and in-house software applications.- Design, develop, test and implement web and middleware applications to integrate applications.- Maintain legacy and in-house software applications.

     

    Minimum Qualifications 1. TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS FOR CURRENT STATE EMPLOYEES:Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service allocated to a Grade 21 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.2. NY HELPS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Five years of professional experience in computer programming which must have involved the planning, configuration, testing, implementation, and/or management of the systems environment that supports the organization's information technology architecture and business needs. Minimum Qualification Substitution: A bachelor's degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science with at least 9 semester credit hours in programming languages AND two years of experience in computer programming; OR a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND three years of experience in computer programming; OR an associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in programming languages AND four years of experience in computer programming. This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

     

    Additional Comments This is a Unit 2, CSEA position. ADDITIONAL PAY INFORMATION:The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are: Base Pay Range from Hiring Rate $83,924 up to Job Rate $117,293.
