Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for day shift. This position requires performing repairs and modifications to protein processing equipment and the facility to ensure safety, efficiency, and effective operations of all plant equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and have a commitment to safety. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.
+ Perform preventive maintenance routines on all equipment.
+ Assist in other areas of plant maintenance as needed.
+ Follow and strictly adhere to company policies and safety rules and make sound decisions concerning daily maintenance activities.
+ Use maintenance software to check for assigned work, complete work orders, write work orders, and document time.
Essential Skills
+ Two-year vocational certificate in maintenance or two years of maintenance/mechanical work experience.
+ Two or more years of experience in a production environment.
+ Strong electrical aptitude.
+ Experience with industrial electrical controls.
+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems with appropriate test equipment and one-line diagrams and schematics.
+ Knowledge of motors and motor controls.
+ Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems with gearboxes, chains/sprockets alignment, and pneumatic systems.
+ Mandatory experience with ammonia.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
+ Able to participate on the company’s HazMat Team.
+ Available to work weekends.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Work Environment
Work in a cool environment, especially cooler if you are in the refrigeration section. This role requires physical activity such as lifting up to 40 pounds and performing tasks in awkward positions like kneeling and crouching. The position involves standing, walking, stooping, reaching overhead, and climbing. Be prepared to work weekends and participate in the company's HazMat Team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
