    Position Overview: Printing Press Operator

     

    We’re seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator to manage and operate a tandem two-color offset lithography press equipped with a trailing coater. This position requires precision and expertise to ensure consistent ink balance, accurate registration, and top-tier print quality.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Operate and maintain a tandem offset lithographic press with a trailing coater.

    + Review job specifications and prepare for specialized setups, ensuring all required materials—plates, inks, and color references—are ready.

    + Perform detailed press setup, including alignment of plates, blankets, and rollers, maintaining tight mechanical tolerances.

    + Monitor and manage the entire press line, including feeder and tender operations.

    + Provide guidance and training to Press Feeders and instruct Oven Tenders on proper sheet stacking techniques.

    + Inspect and separate defective sheets during production to maintain quality standards.

    + Regulate oven temperatures for optimal curing and inspect each load for consistency.

    + Mix and adjust ink for smooth operation and ensure proper distribution through fountain controls.

    Core Competencies

    + Strong understanding of offset press mechanics and troubleshooting.

    + Hands-on experience with lithographic press setup and operation.

    + Skilled in mechanical calibration and visual quality checks.

    + Ability to maintain precise color matching and registration throughout production.

    + Proficient in adjusting press settings to achieve desired layout and color fidelity.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Detail-oriented with a consistent focus on quality.

    + Experience managing trailing coaters and ensuring uniform coverage.

    + Ability to evaluate finished sheets for drying accuracy and color consistency.

    + Familiarity with press registry system adjustments and sample preparation for ink documentation.

    Work Environment & Schedule

     

    Our lithography department is climate-controlled and promotes a collaborative team culture. Available shifts include:

     

    + **Second Shift** : 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

    + **Third Shift** : 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $72633.60 - $82388.80/yr.
