Job Title: Coil Line Operator
Job Description
As a Coil Line Operator, you will be part of the Plant department, responsible for receiving, processing, storing, and distributing metal. This role involves operating specialized equipment with an emphasis on safety. You will help maintain the warehouse and ensure efficient operations while working collaboratively with your team.
Responsibilities
+ Locate material and move inventory or equipment for processing or storage.
+ Understand the operation of the decoil line and maintain its safe operation.
+ Communicate effectively with team members.
+ Review and follow work orders, tooling instructions, or other written specifications.
+ Determine processing specifications such as materials, sizes, surface conditions, and operational sequences.
+ Ensure correct material usage according to work orders.
+ Coordinate and execute material handling.
+ Adjust controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates.
+ Measure and examine pieces using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Perform quality control inspections during 'In Process' and on 'Finished Products'.
+ Remove scrap metal and clean equipment as per maintenance procedures.
+ Diagnose problems and make necessary adjustments.
+ Report irregularities to the supervisor for direction.
+ Complete work order documentation.
+ Move material using a forklift or crane to designated areas.
+ Sort and package parts as directed.
+ Tag material for proper identification and complete all required documentation.
+ Operate yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane.
+ Perform inventory checks and ensure proper tagging of materials.
+ Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ 0-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Valid Driver’s License.
+ Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multilimbed coordination.
+ Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
+ Common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
+ Basic measurement and arithmetic skills.
+ Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
+ Sound decision-making skills based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.
+ Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively.
+ Ability to stand for sustained periods.
+ Ability to push or pull 80 pounds of force.
+ Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
+ Certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
+ Basic computer proficiency and software application knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Warehousing and material handling experience is preferred.
+ High School diploma/GED is preferred.

Work Environment
Work in a dynamic plant environment with exposure to temperatures above 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F. Utilize equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and specialized machinery. Maintain a professional and safety-conscious atmosphere.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
