Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to perform repair work on gas turbine components. The position involves welding on thin materials that range between 40-60 thousand gauge, predominantly stainless steel, but also includes other alloys such as hastex, pneumonic, cobalt, and super alloys. Given the thin nature of the material, controlling heat is crucial. The role requires preparing your own work and blending welds using a variety of grinders and sanders.
Responsibilities
+ Perform TIG welding on turbine components such as blades, nozzles, combustion parts, blocks, and shrouds.
+ Control heat effectively while working with thin materials.
+ Prepare and blend welds by cutting, grinding, and smoothing the repaired sections.
+ Ensure precision due to the high value and delicate nature of the parts.
Requirements
+ 2+ years of TIG welding experience.
+ Proficiency in using angle grinders, die grinders, long neck grinders, and belt sanders.
+ Ability to prepare own work and perform grinding and sanding tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the turbine or aerospace industry is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is an open-aired, clean shop. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 5 am to 4:30 pm, with frequent opportunities for overtime on Saturdays and some Sundays.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
