Job Title: Lathe Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled setup machinist for a machine shop specializing in custom gears, machined parts, and assembly for various industries, including aerospace, defense, medical, commercial oil, power, and automotive. The position is based in Anaheim, CA.
Responsibilities
+ Read blueprints and check part dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.
+ Accurately use measuring tools and understand necessary company procedures relevant to the position.
+ Perform in-process inspection of machined parts.
+ Communicate effectively and demonstrate proven problem-solving abilities.
+ Collaborate with the Supervisor and Quality Department to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with CNC lathe, blueprint reading, and setup.
+ Proficiency in operating Okuma CNC machines and making adjustments at the machine.
+ Previous experience with aerospace parts and inspection tools/methods with tolerances up to .0005’’.
+ Minimum of 2 years' experience in a precision machining environment (Operator) or 5 years minimum experience (Setup).
+ Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading and recent experience in a similar role within the last 3-4 years.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Mastercam experience is a plus.
+ Experience with G code or Mastercam programming.
+ Supervisory skills and programming experience for candidates in the higher pay range.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The shop environment is clean and air-conditioned, providing a comfortable and safe workplace. The role requires working with advanced CNC technologies, including Okuma machines, and offers opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00/hr.
