Job Title: Lead Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Controls Engineer to oversee a major material handling systems project in Dallas, Texas. This role is ideal for a lead engineer with deep expertise in PLC programming and material handling systems, who thrives in leadership and hands-on technical environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project timelines, prioritizing tasks, and delegating to contractors.
Reporting to the Project Program Manager, you will be responsible for all programming tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage a team of employees and external contractors.
+ Delegate tasks effectively and prioritize project milestones to ensure timely delivery.
+ Act as a technical floater, supporting the programming and commissioning of new material handling systems.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
+ Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for performance and reliability.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years in the material handling industry, ideally working with MDR or Spiral systems.
+ Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC Programming.
+ Experience leading material handling projects valued between 10-20 million.
Work Environment
The role operates on a 1st shift schedule from Monday through Friday
+ 10-hour days approximately from 7 AM to 5 PM, totaling roughly 50 hours per week.
The position is based in a plant setting, requiring the individual to be on the floor throughout the day.
Job Type & Location
This is a 6 month Contract position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
