    Job Description

    The Lab Technician will be responsible for understanding and following Quality System documents relevant to their responsibilities, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. This role requires adherence to quality measures that meet or exceed ISO/IEC standards, government regulations (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements. The technician must adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Proficiency in at least one core method and the ability to conduct another assigned method with minimal supervision is essential. The technician will operate necessary lab equipment, set up batches of samples, and perform timely and accurate analysis to meet customer commitments.

    Responsibilities

    + Understand and follow Quality System documents, including Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods.

    + Adhere to quality standards, government regulations, and company requirements.

    + Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

    + Demonstrate proficiency in one core method and conduct another assigned method with no more than 25% supervision.

    + Operate all required basic lab equipment.

    + Set up batches of samples and weigh samples accurately.

    + Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples using appropriate methods and techniques.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Biology, Chemistry, and Wet Chemistry.

    + Experience with pipetting and using HPLC.

    + Knowledge of quality control, GMP, and quality assurance.

    + Understanding of microbiology.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related scientific field preferred.

    + High School Diploma and previous lab experience required if no Bachelor's degree.

    Work Environment

    This is a 3-month seasonal contract position with potential for extension based on workload and performance. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 4 PM to 12:30 AM, Tuesday through Saturday. Training will be conducted on the 1st shift for approximately 4-6 weeks before transitioning to the assigned shift. The facility is large with approximately 7 labs, focused on nutritional testing for various industries. It is a fast-paced production lab environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $20.30/hr.
